“These fixtures are awesome – I love them!” said associate lighting designer Jon Stacey, commenting on Chroma-Q’s Color Force II 72s.
Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel, Guildford School of Acting have recently performed their adaptation of the legendary horror, Carrie, using the multi award-winning Color Force II™ fixtures.
The story focuses on Carrie White, a misfit, bullied high school girl who uses her newly discovered telekinetic powers to avenge those who previously tormented her, ultimately causing one of the worst local disasters in American history.
Jon also commented, “We needed lights that were slim but powerful, which we could use in the limited space we had, without compromising colour and brightness. The Color Force II was an ideal choice for this. It provided a number of lighting effects which changed with the scene, including: fantastic backlighting, silhouettes and eye candy.”
The set designer, PJ McEvoy said, “They worked perfectly for what we had envisioned. We rigged the four fixtures vertically, which enabled us to create a wall of light in the restricted space available. In later scenes of a high school prom, we used the units as eye candy, as well as using their colour changing abilities to highlight the moment Carrie finally snaps.”
