Chroma-Q Sponsors Drivers in BTCC and LoTRDC Championships

May 16, 2014 12:00

Premium performance lighting solutions provider, Chroma-Q, are pleased to announce their sponsorship of several British racing drivers in the high-profile BTCC and Lotus motor racing Championships.

Chroma-Q® are a Premium Sponsor of promising UK racing driver, Jack Goff, in the 2014 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season.

Jack showed great promise in his debut season last year, including being second fastest for most of the race day at Silverstone and achieving a well-earned 2nd place podium finish in the final round at Brands Hatch, after a climactic battle for position with outgoing BTCC champion Gordon Shedden.

A hotly tipped contender in 2014, Jack returned to the UK's premier saloon car series with RCIB Insurance Racing Squad / Team BMR, driving the Vauxhall Insignia again. It is promising to be an exciting season, with seven former BTCC champions, a capacity 31 car grid and a number of champions from other formulas competing in the pinnacle Championship of UK circuit racing.

In the opening three rounds - fittingly at Brands Hatch - Jack finished the races in 12th, 14th and 8th position, making for a very encouraging start to the Championship and good pace in the Vauxhall Insignia. Highlights included posting the 2nd quickest time in the free practise session on Saturday and getting in amongst the action with current champion Andrew Jordan, and former champion Jason Plato.

For rounds 4-6 at Donington Park, the weather took a turn for the worse. With the Team BMR cars off the pace in the wet, Jack finished 19th in the 1st race before propelling himself up to 11th position in race 2. His luck ran out in race 3, when after getting up to 8th place, a hit from behind sent him into a spin dropping him back to 25th place. Despite this, he had been very close to a podium finish.

Chroma-Q are also pleased to announce their sponsorship of the Datum Motorsport team in the Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club Series; Elise Trophy and Lotus Cup UK, with Jack Goff racing in selected rounds in the former in a Lotus Elise S1, and Simon Deacon (2013 Champion) & Phill Capstick in the latter - Deacon in a Lotus 211 and Capstick in a Lotus Exige Cup 260.

Chroma-Q’s award-winning lighting products deliver premium performance for - and have been adopted by leading users in - some of today’s most demanding and prestigious lighting applications, including opera, theatre, film & TV, venues, touring, events, retail, houses of worship, and others.
